On the way to being officially launched in Vietnam this September, the Toyota Rush 2018, a hybrid MPV crossover that is both practical and sporty, has officially arrived in Indonesia. In Vietnam, Rush will only be sold with a single version, the car is expected to sell agents for about 700 million.

Overview

Toyota Rush is a small SUV and it is the Toyota version of the Daihatsu Terios (Daihatsu is a sub-brand of the Toyota Grand) which debuted in 1997. In the first generation, Toyota Rush The name is only used in Japan and only has a 5-seater configuration. In other markets the car is called with different names, such as Perodua Kembara (Malaysia), Premier RiO, Zotye Nomad (India), Daihatsu Terios / Taruna (Indonesia) ...

By the second generation (2005), Toyota Rush has added a 7 seat version. Toyota Rush 2018-2019 3rd generation has launched in some Southeast Asian markets in 2017, early 2018.

Rush is proud to be a seven-seat sports utility vehicle suitable for middle-income consumers, who do not have too much spare but still want a car with great space and practical. Rush is currently being accepted by customers in over 100 countries.

Exterior

In the second generation, the Toyota Rush is completely transformed from appearance, interior, features to the engine. The car is sporty in design, suitable for young customers.

With a length of 4,435 mm and a width of 1,695 mm, the Rush is 18 mm shorter and 40 mm narrower than the Honda BR-V, but the 2.685 mm base length is BR-V longer than 23 mm. The vehicle has a brightness of 220 mm.

The top of the car is designed in Toyota's current Keen Look, with LED integrated daytime running lights, 4-way radiator grille, sport front bumper, fog lights on both sides.

The new Rush was removed from the tail at the rear of the car and moved down to the underside. The tail is designed simple but powerful with many veins floating and the LED backlight wide. The opening of the luggage compartment opens, replacing the open one in the old one. The car is equipped with 5-spoke rotor blades, 17 inch size.

Engine and features

Toyota Rush 2018 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which, in theory, generates 104 horsepower and 136Nm of torque. 5-level or 4-speed automatic. Rush in Vietnam only use 4-speed automatic transmission.

The B-Class SUV from Japan uses the rear-wheel-drive system and is said to be economical with a fuel consumption of only 6.6 liters per 100km, and 6.7 liters per 100km. number automatically.

The notable features of the Rush 2018 include 6-speaker audio system with touch screen with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto Plus Show, Apple CarPlay, navigation system, two-zone automatic and drive 12V plug located at the bottom of the dashboard.

In addition, the car also features a 3-spoke steering wheel with multiple function keys, auto-folding rear-view mirror, automatic LED headlamps, backward camera integrated with parking control system, automatic opening and start button.

In terms of safety, the new Toyota Rush is equipped with a total of 6 airbags, along with ABS anti-lock brakes, VSC stabilization control system and HCA hill climbing support. The driver's position is quite high (even with adjustable seat heights), which makes it difficult for drivers to handle difficult situations.

Operate

Toyota Rush is a very good car, but the lack of a 6-speed gear has made the trip on the highway of Rush quite noisy. Everything was fine when the car ran at the first three numbers, and then the car became difficult to start up the highways and operated at number four, Rush really needed a six-speed gearbox to reduce noise and fuel

Rush is not a 4x4 car. Owning a bright 220mm undercarriage with a 31 degree angle and a 26.5 degree exit angle, Rush could not be perfect off-road due to the absence of full-time four-wheel drive.

Overall, the Toyota Rush 2018 is still a sporty SUV that's impressive enough to take you through rocky, rugged roads, and a strong sense of confidence in front of most urban terrain.

Many believe that the Rush's 1.5-liter natural-gas-powered engine block is too small for a large car like the Rush, but in fact, the combination of low transmittance and low mass has helped darken Excellent performance of the car.

The Rush 2018 rides on its 17-inch alloy wheels with an attractive design, with a lightweight steering system that provides more control.

Conclude

The cheap SUV / crossover is a small segment, but Toyota is also very ambitious to capture the market with the new Avanza and Rush. The target of Japanese automakers are areas that are looking for a cheap 5-7 seat car as well as the Uber market.

Of course, any money of that, Toyota Rush 2018 can not bring you a high-end interior space. However, it is still confident to be able to meet the needs of these group customers.

In the 7-seater configuration, the new Toyota Rush is one of the most spacious luggage compartments, outpacing the expensive RAV4. If you want more space, fold down the last row (even the second row).

Toyota Rush 2018 certainly left a lot of regret when not added optional 6-speed gearbox to improve noise as well as fuel consumption. In the future, hopefully Toyota will look into this.

Featuring stylish exterior, sporty, elegant, powerful performance and top-of-the-line safety features, Rush promises to give Vietnamese customers a great experience on every road. Launched this month.

In Vietnam, Rush 2018 must face some prominent names such as Mitsubishi Xpander launched last month with starting price of only 550 million VND; Suzuki Ertiga 2018 is also the car that Toyota Rush needs to care.
