Beneath the face of the Bentley Continental GT plug-in hybrid 2020 is no disguise
Although there are mixed opinions on the introduction of the 4.0-liter V8 turbocharged engine (borrowed from the Porsche Panamera Turbo) for the Continental GT, the British automaker decided to divert public opinion by announcing it would Extend the Continental GT with a plug-in hybrid version by 2020.
This hybrid will incorporate a conventional V6 engine and an electric motor, which basically shares most of the propulsion system with the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and the Bentayga Plug-In Hybrid. In other words, the new Continental GT Plug-in Hybrid will have a 100% power range around 50km.
In addition, the car was found with a charging port on the trunk of the vehicle, making it easy for people to distinguish the Continental GT Plug-In Hybrid with the regular version. The Bentley Continental GT Plug-In Hybrid takes 7.5 hours to fully charge from a home socket, while an industrial 2.5-hour charging station.
Like the Bentayga, the Continental GT will use the Stop / Start switch that comes with an E Mode set of 3 modes: EV Drive, Hybrid and Hold. The clocks will vary with different driving modes, such as battery status, coolant temperature, and other important information about driver interest.
From the exterior design of the Continental GT Plug-In Hybrid with the Hybrid logo, centering on copper wheels and unique metal plates, you can see that the car is nearing completion of the full test and development phase.
In terms of transmission, the British automaker did not make any suggestions but Bentley's new hybrid engine is expected to be more powerful than the 450 horsepower, which could be about 462 horsepower, the same size 700Nm torque pole. the same as the Porsche 4 E-Hybrid.
